Sixth-grade science teacher from A.C. Reynolds Middle School, Kate Whittier, was presented with the 2023 NCTIES Outstanding Teacher Award at the NCTIES Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The NCTIES Outstanding Teacher Award is given to a PreK-12 teacher who has had a significant positive impact on technology use in their educational community. The winner deliberately plans for, incorporates, and advocates for the use of technology for the purpose of improving the educational setting for all learners. The outstanding teacher continuously improves his or her professional practice through the exploration of creative applications for technology and the consistent evaluation and reflection of current research and practices to improve student learning. We feel that Kate Whittier exemplifies the qualities of an NCTIES Outstanding Teacher.
"We are fortunate to have Mrs. Whittier as a leader in our school," said ACRMS Principal Stanley Wheless. "She inspires students and colleagues to ask questions, investigate, and go beyond. She incorporates technology in ways that bring science to life! Her excitement for teaching is contagious!"
Congratulations!
