Hello, Oakley families! This is Dr. Stolte with our weekly message. 3rd grade students will take the Beginning-of-Grade reading test on Tuesday. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives to school on time so that they can do their best! Families, please make sure your student arrives at school by 7:55 am; it is important that they are able to get breakfast and start morning meeting with their class at 8 am. Also, any students that need to be signed out early for an appointment must do so before 2 pm. This is to protect student safety during our busy dismissal time. If your child rides in a car to school, please be patient and use the car rider line; it is dangerous to cross the street in front of buses and other vehicles. Please mark your calendars for our Open House on Tuesday, September 26th from 4:30-6. More information will be sent home in your child’s folder this week. Thank you for your attention to this message, and have a great night!

Hello, Oakley families! This is Dr. Stolte with our weekly message. There is no school Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend! Our first PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) meeting of the year is on Tuesday at 5:15 in the school media center. Please enter through our back door, across from the playground (we will have a sign). If you would like to join virtually, our Google Meet link is: meet.google.com/mhn-rvpk-otw Thanks for your collaboration in making our first week of school go so safely and smoothly! We encourage kindergarten parents to begin letting their children walk into school by themselves this week; staff are throughout the building to ensure that they get breakfast and get safely to class. We’d also like to remind everyone of a few car line procedures: Please model being kind and take turns merging at the merge point. Then pull up as far as possible; we will bring your child to you. Please leave car tags on until your child gets in the car. This helps us ensure their safety and easily call them a second time if needed. Please do not get out of the car in the car rider line. Practice buckling independently with your child, or pull over in a visitor spot after pickup to help them buckle. Any transportation change requests need to be received in writing (note in folder, Class Dojo, or email) by 1 pm, We are still looking for caring, hardworking individuals to join our Oakley team as a custodian and child nutrition assistant. Please ask anyone you know that might be interested to call the office. Thank you for your attention to this message, and have a great night!

Hello and happy first week of school, Oakley families! This is Dr. Stolte, your principal, with our weekly message. Tomorrow is the first day of school for all 1st-5th grade students and some kindergartners (half of our kindergarteners will start on Tuesday, with all kindergarteners attending together beginning Wednesday). Arrival is from 7:30-7:55, and dismissal is at 2:30. When dropping off or picking up your student, enter through the entrance on School Road, form two lines, and take turns merging into a single line at the indicated spot. For the safety of our students, do NOT drop off students in any other location. This year both car and bus riders will enter through the gym door. We will have many staff members present to greet your child and help them get breakfast and find their class. Alternatively, parents may park and walk their child to breakfast and class for the first week only; however, all parents need to exit the building by 7:50 so that our day can begin. If your child rides a bus, please remember that bus times are approximate and will vary during the first few weeks of school. Please arrive at your stop at least 10 minutes early and be patient if the bus is running late. Please encourage your child to eat our FREE breakfast and lunch at school; high student participation is what ensures that our school is able to continue receiving this important benefit! Also, please join Class Dojo as soon as possible, as it is our primary mode of communication between teachers and parents. If you are not yet connected, you should have received an invitation at Meet the Teacher or will get one in your student’s folder on Monday. Also, please complete our PTO survey as soon as possible so that we can plan how we will work together to meet our students’ needs. https://forms.gle/64hQRohokioq6CWk7 Thank you for your collaboration in supporting your child’s education; we’re looking forward to a great year together!
