Friday, Woodfin Elementary School had the honor of welcoming back our former wolverines that are now graduating from Erwin High School! Witnessing these seniors walk the halls of their elementary school and return to the place where so many of their learning journeys began was a special moment for all!
The seniors loved revisiting their elementary school campus, reconnecting with former teachers, and remembering the memories they made at Woodfin years ago.
Seeing these graduates walk the halls in their caps and gowns also meant so much to our current Woodfin wolverines. Friday's senior walk was inspiring and exciting for everyone ; a powerful reminder that with hard work and determination, you can achieve your goals!
We are so proud of these Erwin High graduates and wish them all the best in the exciting journey ahead!

Friday May, 1 was National Principal's Day! Woodfin Elementary School is so lucky to have Principal Wheeler as our leader! Principal Wheeler works endlessly to ensure that the students and staff of Woodfin Elementary have all of their needs met. It is not unusual to see Mrs. Wheeler mopping the hall, handing out breakfast, or riding the bus in the afternoon! There is truly nothing that Mrs. Wheeler will not do for the Woodfin Elementary School community! There are not enough words to express the deep gratitude felt by all of the students and staff of Woodfin Elementary to have THE BEST PRINCIPAL EVER! Thank you for always leading with kindness. Thank you for always leading by example. Thank you for everything!

Calendar Update: Friday 5/1/26 there will be no school for students. It will be an Optional Teacher Workday.
What a way to end National School Librarian Week with the Woodfin 5K. Mrs.Ayers has been an integral part of the 5K Foundation Team. Mrs. Ayers is definitely a leader in all she does. She led the charge of our parking team and in the words of our race director, “she did it like a boss.”
Mrs. Ayers is highly collaborative, working seamlessly with teachers, administration, and support staff to enhance instruction and integrate resources that meet diverse student needs. Her willingness to partner with others ensures that the media center is not just a space, but a dynamic hub for learning and creativity.
She leads and manages the student news program, providing students with meaningful, real-world opportunities to build communication, technology, and leadership skills. Through this work, she empowers students to take ownership of their learning while amplifying student voice across the school community.
Most importantly, she is deeply committed to supporting both students and staff. She builds strong relationships, creates a welcoming and inclusive environment, and consistently goes above and beyond to meet the needs of others. Whether guiding a student in research, helping a teacher plan an engaging lesson, or solving a technical challenge, she approaches every task with professionalism and care.
Her impact is felt school-wide, and her dedication, leadership, and passion make her outstanding!! Thank you Mrs. Ayers.
