A School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is an on-going advisory group composed of individuals representing multiple areas of our community. The group acts collectively in providing advice to the school district about aspects of the school health program.

One of our goals is to share the message of nutrition and wellness via our department's website that emphasizes the importance of nutrition AND fitness. Our site provides information on the nutrition and fitness for teachers, parents, and students, as well as a variety of learning tools.

These gatherings are held in the Maple Room of our Buncombe County Schools Central Office from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (175 Bingham Road, Asheville, NC 28806). Please enter at Door A (by the flagpole) for your Visitors Pass and directions to the Maple Room.
